Back in 2004 after almost 2 years of development we became the first UK based FTO to crack the magic 300bhp. With a 6A13 2.5ltr V6 Twin Turbo engine transplant. On the 24th August at Topgear Performance in Doncaster we managed a very respectable 329.5bhp at the flywheel and 324.5lb/ft torque running at 0.8bar boost (approx 12 psi) [graph] Later that month, after a little cleaning up of the fuel map and upping the boost to 1bar we were ready for the second Dyno test on a chassis Dyno at the FTO Owners Club 10th Anniversary meet when it achieved a whopping 287.5bhp at the hubs and 314.8ft/lb torque [graph]. Later that year we upped the boost to 1.2 bar and added a 100bhp shot of NOS which lasted for 2 years, unfortunately all good things come to an end. In October at the final event of 2006 the Jap Racer Series the engine passed away and the UK's fastest FTO is no more.
But there in starts a new chapter, the FTO will be back next year with a new 6A13 forged bottom end and ported, polished, bigger valve heads and running a single turbo. A complete new Autronic SM4 engine management system AMI XML Strata Dash and a complete re-wire of the whole car.
